Summer Reading and Writing Expectations

Dear Parents,

       Your child will be bringing home a writing scrapbook and a reading folder for the summer.  We are hoping that the children will use these to maintain their skills over the summer. 

       With the writing scrapbook, we have included a list of possible activities that your child can do.  We expect in the writing scrapbook that your child will have a minimum of 5 entries.  We encourage them to do more.  We will utilize these scrapbooks in our Writer’s Workshop in September.

       In the reading folder, we are again expecting that your child will read a minimum of 5 books and do the accompanying activities.  This will encourage your child to maintain his/her reading skills over the summer months.
