Dear Soon to be Fourth Graders:
We hope you enjoy your summer vacation. During the summer, please take the time to read books that you enjoy. We would like you to share with us some of your favorite books. Our goal for you is that you will take the time to read at least 8 books including at least 1 chapter book this summer. For each book you read, please complete one of the pages in your reading folder. We have included several graphic organizers in this folder. You may choose the graphic organizers that work for you and the books you read this summer.
In your reading folder you will find a Barnes and Noble form to record books that you read over the summer. By filling this form with books you read, you can earn a free book from Barnes and Noble. The same books you list for school can be listed on the Barnes and Noble form. It is your responsibility to take the completed Barnes and Noble form to any of their stores to choose your free book from the selection in their display. You can get a second form from them and get a second free book.
We look forward to reading your folder and discovering what types of books you like to read. Remember that bringing your summer reading folder back to school is your ticket to the dance party. In addition, there will be a classroom reward for bringing in your folder and meeting your goal.
