Summer Writer’s Scrapbook

This summer you will have the opportunity to create a Writer’s Scapbook!  Yeah, fun!  Listed below are ideas that you can include in your Writer’s Scrapbook.  This scrapbook will and can be a “springboard” to your personal narrative stories in the fall.  The exciting part about your scrapbook is that you can include more than just writing in it throughout the summer. 

Ideas for Summer Writer’s Notebook:

*memorable language from books you’ve read

*lists of interesting/different words

*pictures with captions

*observations from the world around you

*dialogue you hear

*thoughts/comments/reactions to things that have happened 

  over the summer

*seed ideas

*letters written or received

*interesting factual information you’ve encountered

*quotations

*”scraps” you’ve collected from memorable experiences

  over the summer (ticket stubs, pictures,   pamphlets, postcards, etc.)

*drawings

*favorite memories you have
