NY State Music Standards:

1. Creating, Performing, and Participating in the Arts.
2. Knowing and Using Arts Materials and Resources.
3. Responding to and Analyzing Works of Art.
4. Understanding the Cultural Dimensions and Contributions of the Arts.

Students at Annsville satisfy the above listed learning standards through classroom singing, using rhythm instruments to accompany singing, studying the customs, music, and instruments of various cultures and countries, composing their own musical pieces, studying musical instruments as a part of band and orchestra, singing in the chorus, and exploring the historical significance of various composers and their music.

We offer two concerts per year to the community, containing a variety of musical selections that showcase the many skills and talents of our students. Concert dates and times are listed on the District Calendar.

Each year, students, with a high level of technical ability on their musical instruments, have the opportunity to attend the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival, where they play prepared pieces of music and scales for ratings from certified judges.
