There has been a recall on Chinese-made products such as Oreos, M&Ms, and Snickers due to tainted milk products in China. These products were investigated by US food makers and said to have high traces of melamine. They have also discovered that the same products tested negative in other Asian countries. This scandal started earlier this month when Chinese discovered that melamine (used to make plastics and fertilizer) had been found in milk powder and linked to kidney stones in children. Since the discovery, melamine has shown up in liquid milk, yogurt, and other milk related products. So far, 4 deaths have been reported and 54,000 children have developed kidney stones or other illness due to tainted formula. US companies such as Kraft Foods Inc. and Mars Inc. said they are in the process of conducting their own tests with food experts. So far only local agencies have checked the products but the melamine seems to be very high. Is this the Chinese way to end America or just a coincidence? You decide.
