McConnellsville Fourth Grade Students Learn Broadcasting Skills! McConnellsville Fourth Grade Students Learn Broadcasting Skills!: Miss Light's fourth grade students at McConnellsville Elementary School have been researching famous inventors. After completing their research, students wrote scripts using the information they found.  Students then used iPads with the green screen app to make presentations. Students had to make the actual green screen and use the app to make different backgrounds appear just like it is done on the nightly news!
CHS National Honor Society Inductions CHS National Honor Society Inductions: On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, the Camden Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 54 new members.  The Chapter also inducted an Honary Member from the community, Ms. Jillian Felt. National Junior Honor Society Veterans Day Project National Junior Honor Society Veterans Day Project: The eighth grade members of National Junior Honor Society chose to create a giant flag for their Veterans Day project this year. They worked together during  NJHS meetings, guided study time, and 10th periods in order to complete the project in time for Veterans Day. They were excited to honor others and to give back to their school by creating this flag to display in the foyer of CMS.
Camden Junior Prom Camden Junior Prom: On Saturday, November 10th, Camden Senior High School held the Junior Prom.  The march was held in the auditorium followed by dinner and dancing at Nicole's.   Click here to view photos from the march.
Fourth Grade Students Practice Coding Fourth Grade Students Practice Coding: Once a week, before school, 11 dedicated McConnellsville fourth graders are taking part in the Wonder Workshop Robotics Competition!  These students use the Dash and Dot robots to work through national missions that were published in October. Here is a sample of a successful mission.  The goal was to travel through all 8 stars on the grid in order. Students used the coding app Blockly to perform the task.   
The Golden Ticket Could Be Yours at CMS! The Golden Ticket Could Be Yours at CMS!: Camden Middle School's character trait of the month is RESPECT.  Students can earn GOLDEN TICKETS by demonstrating respect to their peers and to the staff at CMS.  Each week we draw four tickets to receive a prize.  Last week Emma Johnson, Tyler Perkins, Natalie Dailey and Joey Abear  were selected.  Great Job!

Camden High School Presents Arsenic and Old Lace this Weekend!: The Camden High School Theatre Department proudly presents Arsenic and Old Lace , on Friday November 2 nd, and Saturday November 3 rd , curtain at 7 pm both nights. Tickets are $7. Sure to entertain, this is a show you won’t want to miss.      The play Arsenic and Old Lace is a farcical black comedy by Joseph Kesselring. It centers on the Brewster family, descended from the Mayflower settlers of Plymouth Rock fame, and is set in their home’s living room in the borough of Brooklyn, New York City, convincingly brought to the stage by Set Designer Anthony Dombrowski. CCSD Staff Present at Regional Leatherstocking Conference CCSD Staff Present at Regional Leatherstocking Conference: Jennine Bloomquist, Media Specialist at CHS and Department Chair, along with Loretta Confer, TA at CHS Media Center, presented on "SPEAK UP! Grassroots Library Advocacy."  The description of the presentation is as follows: "Library advocacy doesn't have to be complex; it can be as simple as telling others why you value your library.  How can those who support the mission of 21st-century librarianship raise the profile and support of these timeless institutions?"
Camden Student Performing at All-State Conference Camden Student Performing at All-State Conference: This December, Camden High School student Laura Chase will be performing at the 2018 All-State Conference in Rochester, NY. Laura was accepted into the All-State Symphonic Orchestra this past summer after receiving a 100 on her Level 6 Violin NYSSMA solo. Only select students throughout NYS receive this distinct honor and Laura will be representing Camden High School with dignity. Acceptance to this conference requires hours of individual practice, private violin lessons and extreme determination.  Students will rehearse for 3 days at the Rochester Convention Center and then perform a concert in the Eastman Theater. Congratulations, Laura on this amazing achievement!

Homecoming Parade and Game Homecoming Parade and Game: The Homecoming celebration on Saturday, October 6th was a huge success!  The rain stopped right before the parade began, and the Camden Blue Devils Varsity Football Team beat the Mexico Tigers 34-8!   Click here to see pictures from the parade and game.
Field Hockey beats VVS on Senior Night Field Hockey beats VVS on Senior Night: Great job by the girls on Senior Night! Camden Varsity Field Hockey beat Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 8 to 0 on Monday, 10/1.   Click here for pictures of our seniors and their families.
Camden Football Honor Game vs VVS Camden Football Honor Game vs VVS: The Camden Blue Devil Football Team played an outstanding game vs. VVS on Friday Night and came away with a crucial win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The team began the evening by honoring our military men and women-both retired and active. The Blue Devils came into the game after a 1-3 start to the season and was hosting the previously unbeaten Red Devils (4-0). Most were not giving the Blue Devils a shot at victory but the team believed in themselves and were able to gut out a hard fought victory 31 to 20. Camden started hot scoring on the third play of the game. Kaden Gabler connected with Gavin Vera for a 60 yard touchdown pass. On the play Tyler Parent and Josh Mayden made great blocks that allowed Vera to demonstrate his speed on the edge as he scampered 60 yards to give Camden ...

McConnellsville Fourth Grade Students McConnellsville Fourth Grade Students "Visit" NYC!: With the assistance of Media Specialist Shelley DeLosh, fourth grade students at McConnellsville Elementary visited New York City using Virtual Reality.  Students took this trip while reading the book  The Cricket in Times Square  by George Selden.  This virtual visit really helped to make the story come alive for our students!

Camden Teachers Get Google Ready! Camden Teachers Get Google Ready!:     On Thursday, August 16, Camden Central School District teachers spent the morning with MORIC Technology Integration Specialist, Tanya Snyder, learning how the new and improved Google Classroom functions.  Teachers also learned how to use G Suite apps and extensions during their instruction to promote communication, collaboration, digital literacy, and creativity among students.  Everyone left the workshop excited to use these tools with their students!
