Camden Central School District Named 2019 Organization of the Year! Camden Central School District Named 2019 Organization of the Year!:   The picture above includes anyone affiliated with the school in past or present who attended the Chamber of Commerce Dinner that evening.  Camden Central School District is honored by the Camden Chamber of Commerce as the 2019 Organization of the Year!    Dr. Root, Superintendent of Schools, accepted this award on behalf of both current and prior Boards of Education, Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students.   "It is an honor to serve the Camden community and we will continue the rich tradition of Camden being a community school well into the future," Dr. Root said when accepting the award.  
CHS Band Earns Top Honors CHS Band Earns Top Honors: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! CHS Band earned a 1st Place with a SUPERIOR rating and Best Overall Concert Band at the competition held in Allentown, PA this past Saturday. Schools from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania  were represented.  Great job everyone!

Camden Athletes Give Back Camden Athletes Give Back: Camden Athletes Give Back On Sunday, May 5th, Camden Athletic Director Aaron Fiorini, Coaches and Athletes from Camden Central School District participated in the annual senior yard cleanup for the Camden Community.  There were 51 kids from the Baseball and Track Teams that grabbed their rakes and did their part to give back to their community. CMS Holds Pennies for Patients Campaign CMS Holds Pennies for Patients Campaign: Over the last three weeks, students at Camden Middle School have been raising money for the Pennies for Patients Campaign. The Pennies for Patients campaign directly benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (The LLS).  The LLS mission is to Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma and other blood cancers and improve quality of life of patients and their families.   CMS’s Pennies for Patients campaign,  organized by the 5/6 and 7/8 Student Council, has had a record year! Rallying around our own Mrs Carpenter, currently winning her 3rd battle with Leukemia, we collected money each week throughout the month of March. Camden CSD Honored for Music Program Camden CSD Honored for Music Program:               The Camden Central School District Music Education Program Receives National Recognition For the 4 th consecutive year.      The Camden Central School district has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.    Now in its 20 th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. 5th Grade Makes Maple Syrup! 5th Grade Makes Maple Syrup!:   Mrs. Willson's, Mrs. Shippee's and Ms. Ash's 5th graders have successfully produced their own maple syrup from trees at CMS. Students chose and  tapped the trees, hung buckets, boiled sap, and monitored final bottling. The students are entering their syrup in the NY Agriculture in the Classroom Maple Syrup contest. They also will produce enough to hold a classroom pancake breakfast in celebration of their learning and hard work!

Jr. Science Olympiad Scores 6th Overall at Competition Jr. Science Olympiad Scores 6th Overall at Competition: Congratulations to the middle school's Science Olympiad team!  They placed 6th place at their regional competition at North Syracuse Junior High.  Records were broken for several events and number of medals earned and the team tied for their highest overall rank of 6th! CHS Music Department Presents Newsies! CHS Music Department Presents Newsies!: The Camden High School music department presented this years Musical, Newsies, on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd. The show was produced by Mrs. Kimberly Bird with Mrs. Heather Serway as musical director. Ms. Dee Dee Knapp Brody lended her choreography expertise with Mr. Dylan Isom assisting with choreography!  Mrs. Michaele Morehouse directed the pit of talented high school and community musicians. The costumes were made by Mrs. Sue Teelin and Ms. Diane Lundrigan along with high school students. Mr. Steve Keller is worked hard to design a very unique set and Mrs. Amy Andrews made sure that our set was colorful. "I Don't Care if the Rain Comes Down": Led by Mr. Jerome, students in Mrs. Runfola’s 3rd Grade class learned to perform “I Don’t Care If The Rain Comes Down” on the xylophone. They worked in groups to decode the note names, learn the music, practice, and decide who would perform each part. Not only did they play well, but they also did an excellent job working together and taking turns. Click here for a video of their performance.
5th Grade Celebrates 1000th Day of School! 5th Grade Celebrates 1000th Day of School!: On Tuesday, February 26th, Mrs. Willson's and Mrs. Shippee's 5th grade math students celebrated their 1000th day of school [(5 x 180) + 100 = 1000] with fun hats, treats, and an Escape Room activity  that Mrs. Willson created.
