CHS Students Compete in CNY Scholastic Art Competition
Every year, students from Camden High School submit a select number of artworks to the CNY Scholastic Art Competition.
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Students across America submitted more than 330,000 original works last year in 29 different categories of art and writing.
This year, at the regional level, there were thousands of entries from more than 90 Central New York area school districts. Four students from Camden have received awards in this very prestigious competition.
McKenna Brazie received 1 HONORABLE MENTION for mixed media.
Kendra Igoe received 1 HONORABLE MENTION for photography.
Sophie Marin received 1 HONORABLE MENTION for painting, 1 HONORABLE MENTION for drawing, and a 1 SILVER KEY for a mixed media piece.
Kate Ammann received 1 GOLD KEY for painting and 1 GOLD KEY for mixed media. Her artwork will travel to the national level for competition! Good luck, Kate!
This winning artwork will be displayed with the other regional winners on the OCC campus during the month of February. Congratulations ladies, and to all of the students who submitted work for the show.
