Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,

It has been a great year at Camden Middle School!  We have been focused on rewarding our students for their positive behavior.  Each month we have focused on a different character trait and students that have displayed that trait have received recognition at a character education assembly.  In total we have recognized 320 different students, over the course of the year, for demonstrating good character.

Since we have had these quarterly awards assemblies, we have decided to change the format of the grade level awards assemblies at the end of the year.  Each grade level will be deciding how to handle awards for their grade level.  Teachers may continue to give awards, but will do so in their classroom at the end of the year.  Some grade levels may forgo awards and choose to do something else, such as, a grade level celebration or fun day.

There will still be two awards assemblies.  One will be an 8th grade moving up ceremony.  At this ceremony we will recognize our 8th grade students for academic excellence and wish them well as they move up to the High School. The 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony will be on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 8:15am in our Middle School Auditorium.  The other assembly will be an assembly that recognizes our students in grades 5-7 that have received A-Pass honors for 3 marking periods in a row.  If your child qualifies for this assembly, you will receive a letter inviting you and your family to be a part of the celecration.  The Grades 5-7 A-Pass Honors Assembly will be on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 8:15am in our Middle School Auditorium.

Additional information on each assembly will be sent home with students on Monday, June 10, 2019.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers or the main office.  Thank you for all of your continued support of our students, teachers and the school!

Sincerely,

Brittany DerCola, Principal

Over the last three weeks, students at Camden Middle School have been raising money through the Pennies for Patients Campaign. The Pennies for Patients campaign directly benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (The LLS).  The LLS mission is to Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma and other blood cancers and improve quality of life of patients and their families.

We set a building goal of $1,500 and we CRUSHED it!  We raised a total of $2,777.56.  On Tuesday, April 9th, students from the student council group and teachers Christina Ash and Becky Ouellette unveiled a large butterfly in honor of one of our own teachers currently battling cancer. Each butterfly within the larger butterfly had a special message from the staff and students showing our support in her fight.

Thank you to all of the students, families and staff that supported this great cause!  We have many students here at CMS with very big hearts!
