One of the Student Council's most important functions is to help raise money for projects that will benefit the school.  Presently, the Student Council is working hard to raise money to buy a color laser printer.  Two of its current projects, Pennies for the Printer and Boxtops for Education, have really taken off.

Pennies for the Printer

Your pennies really will count here. Please give loose pennies that you have around the house to your child to bring to school to help us buy our printer. You will be surprised how quickly your pennies will add up.

The class that brings in the most pennies each month will be honored at the Tigers of the Month assembly and their picture will be on our website. The class that gets the most pennies at the end of the year will have an ice cream party.

Box Tops for Education

Clip and save Box Tops for Education logos and bring them into school. Each box top brings us ten cents!!

The class that has the most box tops each month will also be honored at the Tigers of the Month assembly and their picture will on our website. The class that gets the most box tops will have a pizza party.

Look for Box Tops logos on these General Mills Products: Big G cereals; Betty Crocker® Products and fruit snacks; Yoplait Multi-Packs, Go-GURTand Exprėsse; and Lloyd’s Barbeque products.

Box Tops for Education Shop Online

Click on the picture above to go to the Box Tops for Education shop online site.  There you can register by entering North Bay's zip code: 13123 and our state.  After you register, you can shop online and your purchases will help our school.  For example, L.L. Bean will give $3 to the school for each purchase you make!

Below you will see Student Council members and kids in the school helping to count the thousands of pennies and boxtops generously given so far.  At the end of the first week, 1227 Boxtops were counted and the pennies are still being counted.  So far, Mrs. Montgomery's first grade class has given the most boxtops in one week.  They also gave thousands of pennies! As a whole, the classes have been overwhelming in their generosity and the Student Council thanks them.
In addition to our penny and boxtop collections, there will be a contest  to see who can come the closest in estimating how many pennies are in the jar below.

How much money is in this jar?

Be a winner and guess how much money will be in the jar when it is filled.

The person who comes the closest, will be given a gift from the Student Council Store and will grace our website.

Go to the Student Council Store in the morning and get an official entry form or send your guess online by clicking on the photo of the penny jar on the left.

Good luck!!
