The 5th grade Reading Club read the book The Great Train Robbery (Adirondack Kids) by Justin and Gary VanRiper. Afterwards, the students learned about trains, train travel in the 1850's, the Loomis gang and the food that was eaten back then. Congratulations to McKenna Brazie from Mrs. Griffo's 5th grade class who recently won an Arbor Day Poster Contest. Mr. Pickard, an outdoor enthusiast who became involved in Arbor Day when his own daughter was in 5th grade, presented the certificate to McKenna and a tree seedling to all of her classmates to plant in honor of Arbor Day.
