Florence Farming Settlement Dedication

Posted on 10/13/2017

CHS Teachers, Jennine Bloomquist and Jessica Harney organized a dedication event for the new NYS Historic Roadside Marker to commemorate the Florence Farming Association. They researched the site after attending a "Students as Historians; Integrating Primary Sources into the Classroom" workshop through SLS at M-O BOCES back in 2013. They have been able to involve students at various stages of the process, including doing archaeological research the last two years in the spring. The dedication event took place at 2:00 pm on Sunday October 8, 2017. Special thanks to Ben Mitchell for facilitating the use of the Florence Town Hall for the reception.

Thank you all for your support and to many of you to made the drive out for the event.

The dedication event has been uploaded to YouTube if you would like view it again or for the first time. Please feel free to share the link. https://youtu.be/Vj44-DbHOWI
