Welcome to the McConnellsville Elementary Library!
Our library is the heart of the school! Students come to library each week as a 42-minute "special". They have a grade-specific lesson and then have at least 10 minutes to choose a book to take home for the week. For older students, there is "Open Library" each morning, which allows them to visit the library to pick out new books.
Have you heard the Word Buzz??? Begins May 1st!
We're all ready for a bit of sweetness after all the New York State testing! So that's why there is something new in the library called "Word Buzz"! Students in grades 3-5 can participate daily. Each day, there will be a new word on a honeycomb in the hallway. Come to the library, look up the word in the dictionary, and enter the information on the "Daily Word Buzz" sheet. All grades will define the word, grades 4-5 will provide the part of speech, and grade 5 will also provide the number of syllables in the word. All information MUST be spelled correctly!! If your entry is completely correct, you will get either a honey candy or a Bit-O-Honey, and your slip will be put into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the promotion.
