On Saturday, June 7th, 11 members of the Camden Clay Target Team stepped up to compete in the New York State High School Clay Target League Championships held at the Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club. The Blue Devils competed against hundreds of talented competitors from across the state, and showcased program-wide growth by bringing over ten competitors this year vs just two in their inaugural season.
During state-level competition, each competitor shot four rounds of 25 targets each. On the overall leaderboard, Camden’s top five shooters included Tim Wheeler, who connected on 89 targets out of 100, Noah Kelley was close behind with 88. Shawn Whowell hit 83 clays, Colton Schuler broke 82 targets, and Cole Musch rounded out Camden’s top five with 80 targets hit.
Camden also participated in girls’ competition at states for the first time. Abigail Arnold logged a score of 75, and Sam Barrett put a score of 73 on the board.
