School Counselor

Camden Central School District is seeking two dedicated and student-centered School Counselors to serve at Camden High School, effective at the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

School Counselors play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. The successful candidate will provide counseling, academic and career planning, and collaborate with staff and families to help all students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic, career, and personal/social counseling to students in grades 9–12.

Assist students with course selection, college and career exploration, and scholarship opportunities.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.

Develop and implement individual student plans for academic achievement.

Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards.

Participate in student support meetings and contribute to a positive school culture.

Other duties as assigned by the building principal.


Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related field.

New York State Certification as a School Counselor (or eligibility by start date).

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Commitment to equity, student advocacy, and collaboration.


Compensation:
Salary and benefits per the Camden Teachers’ Association contract, commensurate with experience and education.
