Assistant Principals Week
On Friday, March 22nd, a group of 10 student leaders from the Camden Central School District attended a YAC (Youth Activation Summit) hosted by Special Olympics New York at Whitesboro High School. Groups from around the Tri-Valley League participated in a variety of activities centered around inclusivity and whole-school involvement. There was plenty of inter-scholastic collaboration, and our Camden students made us proud by taking leadership roles in the discussions. Camden students in attendance were: Nevaeh Meyers Ryen Lago Katherine Redden Liz Conover Kinley Snyder Zack Odom Adam Gonzalez Cody Piersall Zach Giarrusso Landon Loomis

On Saturday, March 23rd, the Camden High School choir, under the direction of Amanda Hughes, performed the Star Spangled Banner ahead of a Major Arena Soccer League match between Utica City FC and the St. Louis Ambush! Between two different group sales, and a healthy number of season ticket members in our community, we saw well over 75 Camden folks out to enjoy the game and see the performance! We will have video of the performance for you in the coming days. Also, if you're interested in attending the team's playoff home game in the Eastern Conference semis, we hear the team will be announcing a date and time for that very soon......

Varsity spring track practice started yesterday, and Coach Donaleski couldn't wait to tell us about the turnout for his boys' team this spring! An outstanding 62 athletes have come out for the team on the first day, and some great young talent could be among that group.

Let's take a moment to acknowledge some of our very special guest stars from last weekend's performances. First, the youth ensembles. Because of the makeup of the script, the show "Oliver!" provides our elementary and middle school students with a unique chance to be part of the company with the high school students. It's challenging and rewarding at the same time. This group of approximately 35 students had the responsibility to set the tone for the show with the opening number, and they exceeded the standard set before them. Whether it's in a middle school or high school production, we look forward to seeing all of you on stage again soon!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of our 2024 CHS Musical, "Oliver!". Over two days, these students, of all ages, put on three spectacular shows. Getting ready for the show is no easy task, as it requires months of preparation and personal commitment to the task at hand. The hard work pays off in performance, along with the profound personal growth and learning that can happen when a student participates in theater. Bravo!

Is your student looking for a spring sport? How about golf or tennis? The Camden CSD Athletic Department is looking for interested athletes for both sports for the Spring 2024 season. Grades 7-12 are eligible. Please note a Middle School athlete must pass the APP test for varsity tennis competition. High Schoolers can see Mr. Mazzaferro with questions. Middle School students should see Mr. Klatt for more information on how to get started. Once that's squared away, you can register with FamilyID/Arbiter here! https://students.arbitersports.com/organizations/camden-central-schools-athletics
