Two members of the Camden High School girls’ varsity basketball team have been selected to the 2022-23 Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division All-Star teams. The honors were announced by the league on March 10th. The awards are selected through a comprehensive survey of the league’s coaches. The Blue Devils wrapped up the year at 7-14, and participated in the Section III Class B Championship Tournament under head coach Tom McCarthy. Senior guard Erica Zike was selected as a member of the first team. Zike averaged a team-best 9.8 points per game. Her best scoring outings of the season came in matchups against Pulaski and Holland Patent, where she poured in 21 points. Zike was recently announced as one of the top ten students in the Camden High School Class of 2023. Senior guard Katie McCarthy was chosen for second team honors. McCarthy averaged 8.6 points per game. Her best performance of the season came in an early-season matchup against Central Valley Academy where she piled up 20 points. The Blue Devils will graduate six seniors, including Zike and McCarthy, off this year’s varsity roster.

Teams will take the next few weeks to make repairs, improve and modify their presentations based on feedback from the regional judges. Coach Callahan and Coach Harney are really proud of you all.
