WHAT CAN YOUR COUNSELOR DO FOR YOU?

  • Assist students, teachers and parents with home and school concerns.

  • Listen to students, teachers and parents and help find solutions to problems.

  • Monitor student progress.

  • Work with the middle school staff and outside agencies to coordinate services.

  • Promote student success.

  • Facilitate communication between school and home.

  • Provide short-term counseling.

MONITORING YOUR CHILD'S ACADEMICS

  1. Contact your child's teacher(s) with specific questions or concerns.

  2. Monitor homework daily - Check your child's planner for homework assignments and due dates.

  3. Encourage your child to sign up for 10th period extra help with their teacher(s).

  4. Lead by example - promote good attendance and the importance of school.

  5. Set up a parent conference.
