Science Olympiad Team Members In A Group Photo at North Syracuse Junior High School

On Saturday, March 7th, the Camden Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in the Division B Mid-State Regional Competition held at North Syracuse Junior High School. The Blue Devils placed twelfth out of nineteen teams, an impressive placement given that the team consisted of entirely new members for this school year. Camden was also the top team in Oneida County.

During the course of competition, the Blue Devils earned medals in three events. Camden placed a team-best second in the “Machines” event, sixth in the “Potions and Poisons” event, and seventh in the “Heredity” event.

Camden’s medal recipients included Josie Chapman, Eveangeline McCormick and Emma Gerow. Gerow was the team’s only sixth grade student and was in her first year of eligibility to compete in Division B, which encompasses grades 6-9.
