Camp Sum More Fun

Elementary and Middle School students in the Camden Central School District have once again come together under one roof for two weeks of fun and educational activities in Camden’s long-running Camp Sum-More-Fun enrichment program!

This award-winning program serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Many students look forward to returning each year as part of their Summer plans. Children in kindergarten through second grade participate in the “Happy Campers” program, which is a broadly-focused program that is designed to help students explore their interests in a fun and engaging environment. Special emphasis is placed on STEAM-related activities.

Students in third grade through eighth grade can participate in specialized programs geared towards a subject area or activity of their choice. In keeping with the camp theme, these programs are grouped into “Cabins”. Examples of available subject areas include jazz music, drama, robotics, business, construction, drones, computer science, animal studies, art, culinary arts, and our Ninja Warrior program. The programming for our older learners is not only meant to be fun, it can also help students learn about future careers that may interest them. Our popular business program, “Tycoon Junior”, operates the camp store where students can spend their camp bucks earned through good behavior or a job well-done.

Camp-wide activities are also a huge part of the fun. Our opening and closing ceremonies bring students together for a wide range of fun programming, and students were also treated to bounce houses, snow cones, and a dunk tank during our “Fun Day” celebration held on Wednesday, July 27th.

Camp-Sum-More-Fun is presented in partnership with the LEAP program at Madison-Oneida BOCES.
