The Camden Central School District is pleased to announce that it has received an Award of Honor from the New York School Public Relations Association. The award selections were announced on Friday, October 20th by the statewide association of school communications professionals.

The award was earned in the area of Photography for the 2022-23 school year. Public Relations Coordinator Ray Biggs from Madison-Oneida BOCES took the following photo during a visit by the Utica Mobile Children’s Museum to McConnellsville Elementary, and it ran on our camdenschools.org website, Camden CSD mobile app, and in our Summer 2023 Camden Connections Newsletter.  Biggs is with the district three days each week as a regularly assigned contact for the District.

The photo was judged on the following criteria by a panel of over 50 communications professionals from across the country.

 1. Overall quality and composition

2. Effectiveness/quality of cropping, sizing and choice of angle

3. Eye-catching appeal of photo

4. Creative, appropriate choice of subject

5. Effectiveness in complementing accompanying text/publication

There were almost 500 entries, with just 150 receiving any sort of recognition across fourteen competitive categories. Awards will be distributed at the New York School Public Relations Association annual conference in Spring 2024.
