Miss Leone's Kindergarten Class

In April, the "Let's Play" two-year-old program will once again have two sessions, to be held on Wednesday, April 1st, and Thursday, April 2nd. Each session will begin at 10 AM.

Offered in partnership with Family School Navigation (Formerly Ready 4 Kindergarten), the “Let’s Play” program is a free monthly program for two-year-olds and their families. It consists of a monthly one-hour block of play-based learning and socialization with parent/guardian involvement. It is offered with the aim of progressing into the “Look at Me, I’m Three!” program for the following year, and creating a two year skill development on-ramp into Pre-K programming.

To be eligible for this program, a student must reside in the Camden Central School District, and must have reached the age of two on or before December 1st, 2025.

RSVPs are required each month. Spots are limited, and will be on a first-contact, first-serve basis. Early RSVPs are also more likely to get their preferred day to attend. To reserve your spot, or if you have questions, contact our Family School Navigator, Patti Ferretti, at 315-245-2616, extension 5200, or at pferretti@camdencsd.org.

Miss Scheftic’s class at CES practiced kindness for St,. Patrick's Day. They encouraged Lucky the Leprechaun to take a snooze in their village of leprechaun homes on his exhausting night! In support of their kindness, Lucky left each student some golden chocolate coins for letting him rest in their village!

Using block-based programming, they’re learning how to program Dash and Dot robots, navigate obstacles, and complete challenges. On Friday, February 27th, Camden Elementary School was thrilled to host the Utica Zoomobile at Morning Program! The Zoo brought four of its Ambassador Animals to visit with students. Students had the opportunity to see a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, a Prehensile Tailed Skink (Which is a type of lizard!), a Leopard Tortoise, and an Opossum!

Fun Fact: If you met a Leopard Tortoise in the late 1990s or later from the Zoo, you likely met the same tortoise our students did today. His name is Leo and if all goes well, he might meet a few more generations of student later on. They live to be about 100 years old.

Mrs. Kuc’s class celebrated the 100th day of school with some triple digit themed activities! The class incorporated an active element to their celebration by seeing who could stand on one foot for 100 seconds, do 100 jumping jacks, and who could run in place for 100 seconds. They also graphed a total of 100 snack items and enjoyed the tasty result of their work afterwards!

Our students are officially 100 days brighter!

When you get a lot of snow, you learn to make your own fun with it. And Camden Elementary School does exactly that each year with its annual WinterFest celebration! This year’s celebration was held on Thursday, February 26th. Students participated in sled races, relay races, and a bubble activity with Connected Community Schools. They also enjoyed delicious hot chocolate! Special thanks to the CES PTO for making today magical for our students!
