On Thursday, our Pre-K students and families came together to celebrate a successful school year with the annual Pre-K picnic held at Camden Elementary School!

As we ran elementary track meets for third and fourth grade, we have some people to thank for making it happen. Keeping a track meet organized and running in a timely manner is no simple task, and our PE Teachers, 3rd and 4th Grade Teachers, and our student volunteers kept things running smoothly. Our high school students were great role models for their younger peers. Well done!
On Wednesday, 5/29, 4th grade students from Camden Elementary and McConnellsville Elementary gathered at Camden High School to compete in the annual District-Wide fourth grade track meet. The athletes competed in running events as long as 400 meters, along with the 4x100 relay and field events such as the long jump, softball throw, football throw, and soccer ball kick for distance. Great job students!!!
Elementary students in the Camden Central School District are once again stocking up for their summer reading endeavors through the generosity of the Tuthill Foundation Grant. For a sixth year, the District is pleased to host a Free Summer Reading Book Fair at Camden Elementary School and McConnellsville Elementary School.
This year, the Fair is running from May 28th to June 4th at McConnellsville Elementary School, and from May 30th to June 6th at Camden Elementary School.
As part of the fair, each student receives a free 25 dollar credit to spend on heavily discounted books. Students will visit the fair during their normally scheduled library times. No other purchases beyond the 25 dollar credit will be allowed, so there is no need to send money in with your child.
The Tuthill Foundation operates to carry on the legacy of longtime Camden residents Virginia and Stedman Tuthill, who believed in supporting educators and students. Through their generosity, our students can continue to have access to books throughout the summer months regardless of their available resources, and build reading comprehension skills by reading in subject areas that interest them.
The District is thankful for the Tuthill family for continuing to provide this generous support to its students, and eternally grateful to Virginia and Stedman Tuthill for keeping our schools in mind as part of their legacy.

Miss Barber's entire 4th grade class volunteered to carry all 310 items of food collected out to the Camden Food Pantry volunteer's vehicle! Many hands make light work!

The final results are in and McConnellsville Elementary read a total of 2,012 minutes! WOW!
In first place, 2nd grade read 559 minutes. In second place, PreK read 399 minutes. In third place, 1st grade read 346 minutes. Great job to all participants!
