The Camden Central School District has canceled all after school activities today, Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Please bring any empty cereal boxes to the art room. Thank you!

Students in Miss Lis' art class from Mrs. Clark's first grade did a fantastic job decorating their gingerbread people to go in the winter wonderland scene outside of the art room!

Unfortunately, the "Look at me, I'm Three!" program at Camden Elementary School will not be meeting on Wednesday, 12/14, as originally scheduled. Administrators are hoping to potentially reschedule to January, if possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Please send in your plastic film for the Recycling Challenge!! Student Council shows us that "plastic film" is bubble wrap, cereal bags, bread bags, plastic around toilet paper or paper towel rolls or cases of bottled water. "When in Doubt, Stretch it Out!"
Our entire school is taking part in Computer Science Education Week and the Hour of Code! Students in K-4 are learning to code through either an app called Box Island or a program called CodeSpark Academy. If your student enjoyed coding, there are many free coding apps and websites to keep practicing! Just Google "Hour of Code" and you'll find many!
Mrs. Hollis’ class demonstrating cooperative, creative play during recess on this rainy day. “I just love my class!” Mrs. Hollis said, “they are just so cute and good to each other.” Go Bobcats 💙

Mrs. Malenowski's 3rd Grade IFA Reading Group raised $795.07 for Pennies for Puppies! The donation will be sent to Wanderers Rest Humane Society in Canastota. Thank you to everyone for your support!
Faculty Spotlight: Over the past week our new building mascot McCie the Bobcat has spent her time in Mrs. Skinner’s 3rd grade class. McCie (named for McVille) was awarded to Mrs. Skinner for her strong connections to her students and demonstrating the positive, relationship building characteristics and methods from the Capturing Kids Hearts Character education program ! She will decide which faculty or staff member “earns” the right to spend next week with McCie! I can’t wait !

Cupcake spent the day “hanging around” in the cafeteria making sure students were being Responsible… the students are having so much fun finding her each morning !

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at McVille! Mrs. Allen’s elf Cupcake is moving around the building …

Students from Mrs. Hollis’ fourth grade share their Teamwork poster celebrating the end of November - this was the Capturing Kids Hearts character trait of the month ! Great job !

Mrs. Malenowski's 3rd grade IFA Reading Group is busy at work counting coins as part of their service project for the book Shiloh. We are collecting coins for Pennies For Puppies until Wednesday! Help us reach our $300 goal!
A message from Dr. Root:
A local radio station is still listing local schools that closed last Thursday due to poor weather. Please know this does not mean these schools are closed tomorrow. The District is watching the weather closely and will make the call first thing in the morning. In order to find out if Camden Schools are closed or have a 2 hour delay please check the District Website, Camden App or Parent Square.
Have a good evening,
Dr. Ravo Root
Superintendent of Camden Schools
Congratulations to our November Capturing Kids Hearts Bobcats with Character award winners ! These students demonstrated the trait of Teamwork during the month in their classrooms and throughout our school ! Go Bobcats !

McConnellsville Elementary Student Council created this banner for Veteran's Day and it will be delivered to the Camden VFW this evening by their advisor, Mrs. Malenowski - the students also made cards for patients at the Syracuse VA Hospital !
Thanksgiving Turkeys are everywhere at McVille ! Amazing displays of student work with these creative masterpieces !
