History, Language Arts, and Theater came together to create something awesome for Mrs. Skinner and Mrs. Sessler's third grade students at Camden Elementary! They've been busy learning about Ancient Rome. On Tuesday, they showed what they've learned with a special "Reader's Theatre" performance of Androcles and the Lion!

This week in Art IFA with Miss Lis, 4th graders learned about Graffiti art. Students brainstormed meaningful words, names and numbers that they then turned into Graffiti style stickers. Great job, 4th graders!

4th graders in Miss Lis's art IFA group created graffiti artwork. Great job, 4th graders!

The Camden Central School District is pleased to announce the launch of its new "Before the Bell" Before School program!
Beginning February 1st, this free program will provide supervision, activities, breakfast, and more before each school day for students attending Camden Elementary and McConnellsville Elementary. A separate program will operate at each building.
The program's daily schedule will start at 7:55 AM, and students will have a chance to eat breakfast before starting school for the day. There will be no program on days where school is closed or delayed.
Registration openings are limited. If you are interested in registering your child for this opportunity, please return the registration form that is coming home with your student no later than Friday, 1/26.
After that form has been returned, the main office of your child's school will contact you to establish if your child has been accepted, or placed on the waitlist if applicable.
If you have questions, or your registration form does not arrive with your student in a timely manner, please contact the main office of your child's school to make arrangements to receive one.

We had a lot of fun hosting our One District, One Book Launch Assemblies at CES and MES. This year's book is "The Year of Billy Miller".
Friday's CES launch featured the debut of a music video you may have seen on this page, Mrs. Platt on rollerblades, and more.
Today's launch at MES featured a staff skit and a video to introduce the book.
And now, we read! The schedule starts tonight with Part 1, Chapter 1. Ideally, try to set a goal to complete the assigned reading schedule on time each weeknight. In addition to our elementary staff and students, members of our support staff and administrative office staff are also going to be reading along with your student!
To help support you and keep your student on track, the staff at each building has developed a web page for the program with the schedule, audio read-alongs from staff, and the daily trivia questions.

We are one week away from the January meeting of "Look at Me, I'm Three!"
This group is intended for district children who have turned three years old on or before December 1st, 2023. The group will meet on Wednesday, January 17th at 5:30 PM at Camden Elementary School. Snacks and activities are included in this free program.
If you are attending, please RSVP to Patti Ferretti at pferretti@camdencsd.org or 315-245-2616, extension 5200. This will be very helpful in planning the evening.

Need something for the holiday weekend? Connected Community Schools has you covered. Open Hub Hours at the CHS Hub will be held from 4 to 6 on Thursday.

All after school activities are cancelled today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, due to poor weather.
If you'd like to have a greater understanding of the content your children are reading, or would like assistance choosing appropriate literature for your child, we are here to help.

Early registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year is now open!
Please note: If your child already attends Pre-K with us this year, they do not need to register for Kindergarten.

As the students in room 54 got into the holiday spirit, they made some holiday Chex mix!
They used their skills of measuring, reading directions, working cooperatively in a group and improvising the recipe. Tasty fun & learning was had by all.

4th graders from Miss Lis's IFA group finished putting together their zines. Great job!
