Our March edition of the "Look at Me, I'm Three!" program was all about Bears!
The group read "Bear Snores On" by Karma Wilson. They learned about hibernation and made "caves" out of paper bags. During the mindfulness portion of the program, our young learners went on a little "bear hunt". As always, the evening also included music from Laurie Berkner and Dr. Jean!
We're excited to see how they're growing as they get closer and closer to their Pre-K eligible year! Information on next month's meeting is coming soon!
At Camden Elementary, Dutch loves to rotate portions of his Pez Collection in the front hallway display case. On display right now is this awesome collection of Mini Pez he has, all the way from Japan! These are typical of the dispensers sold in the country at vending machines or in convenience stores, also referred to as Konbini.
You just might recognize a few characters here!

Students from Mrs. Davis’ fourth grade class have spent the month of February working very hard with CES Social Worker Mrs. Berezein to record 100 acts of kindness by their peers.
The reward they selected as a class was reading to two kindergarten classes, Mrs. Gonzalez/Ouderkirk’s Class & Mrs. Leone’s class!
On Thursday, March 13th, the Connected Community Schools team will be hosting another Open Hub event at Camden High School!

Why Art? There's so many benefits from art education.
This week, 3rd graders from Miss Lis’s Art IFA group created Culture Jars. Students drew at least 8 symbols of things that are important to them. Great job, 3rd graders!

This program is a collaborative effort between the Camden Central School District and Ready 4 Kindergarten. It is for students who will be Pre-K eligible for the 2025-26 school year.
To attend Look at Me I'm Three this year, a child must have had their third birthday on or before December 1st, 2024.

How's this for a cool idea?
Rather than nominate students directly to be recognized at this month's "Cougars with Character" assembly, Mrs. Platt and Mr. Janes took a different approach. Each time students were noticed doing something kind, they were given an entry blank to put into the "Kindness Box". The more things they did, the better their chances to receive the award. The winners were drawn at last week's assembly, which made for a wonderful surprise!
At last week's Camden Elementary School Character Assembly for third and fourth grades, the focus was on kindness! Congratulations to all of our recognized students!

Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs.

Making 100 piece snack bags and sorting them out on "snack boards" is a fun 100th Day Tradition in our Elementary Schools!
From stacks of cups to building blocks, Miss Leone's kindergarteners had all the tools to make their 100th day a great one!
No matter how you stack it, or count it, Mrs. Riegler's class at CES had a memorable Thursday celebrating 100 days of school!
