That question will be answered on Monday, July 14th as Connected Community Schools presents this hands-on event at the Camden Elementary School Playground. The program will feature a special guest appearance from our own Steven Keller and his science-crazed alter ego - Professor K!

Last week, Camden Elementary School came together for some fun at the expense of a few staff volunteers to raise money for the student council and fourth grade gym jam! Students and staff bought raffle tickets for a chance to pie a staff member - or in Miss Buehler's case, her own father, SPO William Buehler!

If you need help on a home improvement project, might we suggest Craig over in the lawn and garden department? Great guy. Knows his stuff. And also looks familiar too. Mr. Ferretti certainly looked the part as he helped put the finishing touches on some improvements to the front entrance at CES! This leaves a key question that only he can really answer: Is this a costume, or a window into a part time retirement job? But seriously - On this last day of school, we thank Mr. Ferretti for sharing so much of his career with all of us, and for so many great times along the way. We wish you all the best!

What's the fastest 100 meter dash time in the world this year by someone in an inflatable costume? We don't know. We're going to guess the IAAF doesn't know either. But perhaps, the answer lies at Camden Elementary School. The CES Family came together to bring last day excitement to the next level with some staff inflatable races, and the racers had as much fun as the students did! Also, who knew a T-Rex could run that fast? Have a fantastic summer, CES Cougars!

Rock Solid Goal Setting Event With Connected Community Schools on June 25th at 5:30 PM.
Good Morning Blue Devils, After careful consideration of the conditions, the Camden Central School District will be open on Monday, June 23rd, 2025. All District buildings have power at this time. As a reminder, this is a scheduled half day for Elementary and Middle School students. We understand that several roads may be impassable for our buses and/or your vehicles at this time. With this in mind, some students may not be able to be picked up today and some bus routes may run noticeably off schedule. In the event a bus cannot reach you, and you are still capable of bringing your child to school with your own vehicle, you are welcome to do so. If your child is absent because they are unable to be transported to school, it will count as an excused absence for today. Thank you for your time and consideration as we strive toward a safe opening for staff and students.

Good evening Camden CSD School Community, We hope everyone is safe and managing through this latest storm. We are monitoring the power outages and road conditions throughout the District. If the situation requires us to close school tomorrow, we will exhaust our snow/emergency days. As stated in our communication from May 23rd, it would become necessary for staff and students to report for an additional half day on Friday, June 27th. At this time, we are hoping that the conditions will improve and we will be able to hold school tomorrow. We will keep everyone updated as we continue to monitor the conditions throughout the evening. Stay Safe.

On Friday afternoon, the Camden Elementary School community gathered for an assembly to celebrate Craig Ferretti's 19 years with our District, including his current role as CES Principal. As he gets set to step into retirement, Craig was celebrated with a video, some special gifts, and some heartfelt words from assistant principal Amanda Mitchell, who is also the incoming principal. "Thank you for your incredible service, your profound impact, and for being such an extraordinary leader and mentor," Mitchell said. "We wish you a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and all the happiness you deserve. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will undoubtedly remain with us."

On Friday, May 30th, our third graders put their best foot forward at their annual district-wide track meet! While many students represent the community in youth sports, this is one of the first opportunities that our students get to represent their school in competition. Good effort and good sportsmanship are paramount to a successful event. We look forward to seeing how much they've grown when they come together for the fourth grade meet next year!

Recently, the Camden Central School District was pleased to hold its annual "Summer Reading Book Fairs" at Camden Middle School, McConnellsville Elementary, and Camden Elementary. This special event, held during the school day, gave each student a credit to spend on discounted books for their summer reading endeavors. Students have the opportunity to pick up books that fit their interests in hopes that it will drive greater engagement in reading, and it also provides important access to books to have at home for all students, regardless of circumstances. This opportunity is made possible through the support of the Tuthill Foundation Grant, and the continued generosity of the late Virginia and Stedman Tuthill. The Tuthills were longtime Camden residents who were firm supporters of students, educators, and libraries. After Stedman passed away in 1993, a grant was set up in the family name to support initiatives of the Camden Central School District, and the Camden Public Library. Virginia was a board member of the library for many years and cherished creating literacy opportunities for children. She passed away in 2014 at the remarkable age of 102. The couple's legacy lives on through initiatives such as this book fair, which has now benefited generations of students.
