The Camden FFA Chapter had an outstanding day at the District 5 competition. Eleven students represented Camden in four different competitions. Congratulations to Camden's Agriculture Issues team (Alexis Albrecht, Matt Albrecht, Luke Eveleth, Patrick Eveleth, Izabella Johnson, and Autumn Porter) and Kayla Winn with her Junior People in Agriculture project. These seven students will be advancing to the substates competition. FFA Advisors, Karly Marshman and Brianne Willson, are incredibly proud of all eleven students. Every student stepped outside their comfort zones, put forth their best effort, and represented Camden very well. In addition to competing, Camden students completed community service by helping to pack 10,000 meals for Meals of Hope. Congratulations, FFA members! We are proud of you!

''Twas the night before FFA competitions and all through the school not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse! Good luck to Camden FFA members that are competing tomorrow!

Camden FFA students are ready to "IGNITE" the FFA chapter! Not with literal fire but with developed leadership skills, communication skills, and all things FFA. Luke Eveleth, Matthew Albrecht, and Alexis Albrecht attended the FFA IGNITE leadership conference in Marathon NY. Camden FFA is growing enormously and without students drive for the program it would not be where it is today!

As the weekend rests on the horizon, let's take a moment to applaud everyone involved in Wednesday's spelling bee at CMS. Camden FFA member Patrick Eveleth found a new friend today!

Everybody wants to rule the "Word".
That's not actually how the song goes, but it certainly describes what nearly 60 competitors were thinking at last night's Camden Middle School Spelling Bee. Over about 90 minutes, our students spelled words from every corner of the dictionary until we had one competitor left standing.
Eighth grader Mary Hall was our winner in the thirteenth round. Her winning word was "Congregation". Last year's co-champion, eighth grader Justin Melnick, was second. Seventh grader Max Scholz rounded out our podium with a great run into the 10th round.
Mary has earned the opportunity to advance to the at-large Scripps regional qualifier if she elects to do so.
Congratulations to all of our contestants!
