Veterans Day is just around the corner for 2025. To help mark the occasion, the Camden Middle School Social Studies Department is bringing the Disabled American Veterans “Field of Flags” initiative to Camden Middle School.
This unique program will create a powerful veterans’ day flag display at Camden Middle School, along with raising money for the Disabled American Veterans organization, which helps veterans navigate and gain access to employment assistance, education, financial benefits, healthcare, disability assistance, and other benefits they’ve been promised. They also provide transportation to and from VA facilities to ensure all veterans can get the medical care they require.
CMS Students will visit the display for a lesson on Veterans Day during their Social Studies classes on Monday, November 10th.
Here’s how it works:
1. Visit https://support.dav.org/participant/CamdenMiddleSchool.
2. Select the amount you’d like to donate. Currently, they sit at $60.00 of a $500.00 starting goal. For each $250.00 raised, CMS receives two dozen flags with the proceeds going to help DAV in their mission. Assuming they receive the first two dozen flags, the display will proceed as planned.
Questions can be directed to Jeff Doran at jdoran@camdencsd.org.

You've heard the kids saying it so we decided why shouldn't they read all about it. 6-7! Here are some of the books in our collection that feature those ever so popular numbers in their titles.

Wait - We found the fifth CMS Lorax! Thanks to Stephanie Smith for helping us out.
However, we still wait to hear what the plural of Lorax actually is. The great mystery of our time continues....

Twin Day? How about Quintuplet Day! The CMS Cafeteria Team rocked the shirts they got for School Lunch Hero Day earlier in the calendar year! What a group!

What is the plural of Lorax? Some members of our sixth grade lunch bunch decided to take Twin Day for Spirit Week to the next level by dressing up as multiples of famous Dr. Seuss character. Rumor has it there was still one more running around CMS that we somehow missed.

Floral design students spent today processing flowers donated from the local funeral home. Students are using the new floral design lab equipment purchased through the "Tuthill Grant!" Students are enjoying this hands on opportunity provided through the Camden agriculture program!

Custodians make our schools shine. The students of Camden Middle School made sure that sentiment was loud and clear today as they presented this banner in honor of National Custodian Day!

Mr. Z is a snappy dresser, so Miss Beach surprised him for Twin Day at CMS by rocking a shirt and tie combo of her own!

Some students in Mrs. Currie's Homeroom were riding the waves today getting ready for Homecoming festivities!
"What’s all the comm-ocean?" 🌊

Our last Featured Guest Librarian is Mia. She was so excited to participate in this program. Each of our Guest Librarians is responsible for their shelf for one month until a new group is selected.

Kyra is our next featured Guest Librarian. Each student is able to curate a shelf in the media center for their friends to choose books from.
