Camden Middle School’s physical education classes recently completed their golf unit. During the unit, the class employs some.consumer-grade Optishot 2 projection golf simulators purchased through support from the Tuthill Foundation Grant. The class tests their skills with competitions for longest drive and closest to the pin, and in the latter, we had two students who couldn’t have done it any better!

Congratulations to fifth graders Lyla Hansen and Lucas Ward on their holes-in-one!

On Friday, May 8th, Camden Middle School was fortunate to host New York Times Bestselling Author Megan E. Freeman for a small group visit in the library media center. The author of the hit novels “Alone” and “Away” took an audience of excited Middle School and High School students behind the scenes of her writing process and her experiences writing novels in verse. She also answered some terrific student questions about the material. The two books are companion novels that explore the same central plot point from different points of view. Her work has become a highlight of Middle School English Language Arts classes across the country, including here in Camden.

Thank you for stopping by to share your expertise and perspective with our students, who loved meeting you!

Camden Middle School is proud to host an author visit this afternoon from New York Times Bestselling Author Megan E Freeman! Freeman has made the bestseller list twice with her young adult novels "Away" and "Alone", with the latter also becoming a favorite in some sixth grade ELA Classes at CMS, along with being a popular choice for "One School, One Book" initiatives across the country. The Camden High School book club, under advisor Kelly Doran, is also coming to enjoy the afternoon.

Special thanks to our own Dr. Tara Baker for doing a lot of the legwork to make this happen.
