Students in Mrs.Lapier, Mrs. Wilcox, and Mrs.Turner's classes said farewell to the fish they raised in their classroom hatcheries today!
Volunteer club members from the Fish Creek Atlantic Salmon Club joined the 6th and 7th grade CMS students to help them release over 400 Brook Trout and Atlantic Salmon into Mad River.
Students learned how to assess stream health, about fish health and diseases, aquatic macro invertebrates, and fish anatomy. Students were also able to spend time with the members to learn more about their environment, ask questions, and share fish stories.
For the past 9 years, the club has provided the eggs to each classroom, equipment, food, and supplies to make this year-long experience possible. Special thanks to the club and its members for their continued support for our school. It's always a memorable experience!

The Students in Mrs. Johnson's reading class made tulips and hearts for the special ladies in their lives ahead of Mother's Day this weekend. We hope all the Mother and Mother figures in our childrens' lives have a relaxing weekend.

Todays discussion in the agriculture classroom was "gratitude." Students brainstormed new ways to appreciate teachers without having to "buy" anything. Teachers were also shown appreciation by receiving a pancake breakfast in the agriculture classroom!

Students are diving deep into the world of poultry today during the animal science elective in the agriculture classroom! Students took time to determine the gender of the baby chicks today by looking at the feathers on the chicks as well as the combs.


We enjoyed a terrific performance on Wednesday as Camden Middle School held opening night for their spring play, "Twice Upon A Time"!

Renewable energy is a hot topic in the world of agriculture. Students in 7th and 8th grade learn very basic information about renewable energy through the agriculture course. To expand upon the knowledge, students in the agricultural electives invited Mr. Davis from Oneida CCE to come in and discuss renewable energies impact on agriculture and also various career opportunities within the renewable energy industry.

CMS agriculture program is continuously supported by students, staff, and the community. Tonight is the spring play and the agriculture program is giving back to the CMS Drama Club by giving out flower bouquets to each cast and crew member involved in the spring play!
