High School Animal Science spent this week creating 3D animal models to learn all about external anatomy of livestock. We even had one of the students accidentally create "Hae-Hae the chicken from the Disney movie Moana!

The students in Mrs. Johnson's class finished up their holiday gifts for their people at home today. They made air dry clay ornaments, snowmen, Christmas trees, and gnomes. Happy Holidays! ⛄️

The CMS Student Council wrapped up their Holiday Food Drive on Friday, December 15th. In total, CMS donated 780 items to the local Rotary. These items were used to help fill food baskets for local families. Congratulations to Miss Christmas's homeroom. They collected an average of 7.7 items per student!

CMS 5th graders are at the DOME in Syracuse cheering on the SU Women's Basketball team at their education day today. Our students even received a visit from Otto! Let's go SU!

Students in Mrs. Johnson's reading class continued working on gifts to bring home for the winter break today. If you're expecting a gift from one of them, don't peek!😆

Greenhouse Management students are all hands on deck this week preparing and creating Christmas Centerpieces. The students have come a VERY long way on their floral design skills. All arrangements were gone within 30 minutes! Proud agriculture teacher moment!

On the evening of Thursday, 12/21, the Connected Community Schools team will be hosting Open Hub hours at CHS! This is a great opportunity for our families to get anything they may need for the upcoming break. Students in Mrs. Willson's agriculture elective had the chance to sample different types of "milk" while completing a lactose activity. Students tried whole milk, goat milk, lactose free milk, and soy milk.

The students in Mrs. Johnson's reading class worked on making presents to bring home to their loved ones ahead of the winter break. They painted pinecones that will be decorated as trees when they dry. They also made snowmen with marshmallows and pretzel arms. 🎄⛄

Today was "Christmas sweater" day. The Guinea pigs felt like they wanted to participate. Here is jelly in his Christmas sweater that states: "Christmas is GUINEA be great!"

Killarney just finished reading Pony by R.J. Palacio. She is set to begin reading Far Away. Carson finished reading Dog Man Lord of the Fleas. He plans to read to read Dog Man Brawl of the Wild next.

Kristian recently finished reading the historical fiction novel Ground Zero by Alan Gratz.
