On Thursday, McConnellsville Elementary continued the long-running tradition of hosting the Learning Fair! The Learning Fair goes beyond a traditional science fair and challenges students to explore a topic that is interesting to them. We had over 30 projects this year!
Hopefully, we've inspired some students to try something new!

In art class with Miss Lis, 4th graders from Miss Barber’s class finished up their self-portraits. Students learned about different styles of portraits over many art movements. Students traced a picture of themselves and then created layers of images, colors and words that reflect their identity. Great job, 4th graders!

This week in art class with Miss Lis, kindergarteners from Miss Wood's class finished their soup artworks inspired by Jasper Johns. Students added some finishing touches to their projects with tempera paint sticks. After that, students analyzed The Marvelous Sauce painting and guessed if the sauce was delicious or not so good from the reaction on the chef's face in the painting. Great job, kindergarteners!
