The only thing being judged in agriculture class is cookies and cattle not people! World dairy expo enabled students the opportunity to learn about the dairy cattle industry in a fun and unique way!

FFA members are off an running this year! In October Chapter Officers attended COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) to see what skills they need to be the best leader possible in FFA. Ms. Marshman could not pass up the opportunity to let students have the best ice cream ever at the Cornell Dairy Bar as well!

More cheese, please! Mrs. Willson's Agriculture elective has been working on the NYS Mac & Cheese Challenge. What better way to decide what cheese to use, than by taste test? Stay tuned to see how their Mac & Cheese turns out!

Mrs. Gannon's 7th-grade Life Science students made cell models to show what they learned during the 1st marking period. #BalooTeam

The Camden Agriculture program is so excited to partner with its community members. We have received flower donations from Tops, LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Nunn & Harper Funeral Home, and the Tailwater Lodge. These businesses have shared their extra flowers so our agriculture students can practice their floral design skills. Thank you!

We will be holding another FCC Affordable Connectivity Program sign-up night at Camden High School. Come on out to the CHS Library on Thursday, November 16th beginning at 5:30 PM to learn more about the program.
Under the Affordable Connectivity Program, parents/guardians of currently enrolled CCSD students are eligible to receive a monthly discount on their internet service of up to 30 dollars through a participating provider. They are eligible because we serve free meals to students under the Community Eligibility Provision. Numerous popular providers are included in this discount.
You may also be able to receive a one-time device purchase discount as part of this program. (Restrictions apply).
To register, you will need to bring some information with you, which is detailed in the attached flyer. That information will be used to provide you with an eligibility letter certifying that your student is enrolled with us that you can use to receive your discount.
We will have devices on site that you can use to register, or you can always take your eligibility letter home along with program information to sign up at your convenience.
Contact Lauren Platt (lplatt@camdencsd.org) if you have any questions.
Even if you don't have a student with us, you may still qualify under a variety of criteria. Visit getinternet.gov to see how you may qualify.

5th and 7th graders have been learning how to use Sphero robots in the CMS Library! Spheros are programmable robots that help kids learn fundamental STEM concepts through play-based learning and educational STEAM activities. Once students learn to drive them remotely, they move on to coding and completing challenges. In these pictures, the students are using the math concepts of speed, time and angles to determine how to get the spheros to go over a hurdle (the ramp), go straight and then make a 90 degree turn to make it to the end of the track.

October 23-31 is Red Ribbon Week. This year, CMS students learned how to "be kind to your mind" and live drug free. During their lunch period, students signed a banner, pledging to make healthy choices and live drug free. They also participated in spirit week, competed in a call in type trivia game each day, and learned about the harmful effects of drugs. CMS Student Council was proud to organize Red Ribbon Week for CMS students.

This November there is much to celebrate in the library. Stop in and see our display case, highlighting Native American History Month, Veterans Day, as well as Thanksgiving.

The students in Mrs. Johnson's sixth grade reading class created some spooky Halloween crafts to take home to their families. 🎃👻

On Saturday afternoon, the Camden girls' modified soccer team participated in the Oneida County Youth Bureau's 13th annual Intergenerational Fall Clean-Up event. As part of the event, the Blue Devils raked leaves from the backyards of some area senior citizens in need of assistance.
The event ran throughout the weekend with area schools, colleges, and youth groups working throughout the county. There is typically also a spring event.
For more information on the intergenerational cleanup events, including how you can get involved in the future, the Oneida County Youth Bureau website is located at https://ocgov.net/departments/youth-bureau/.

Some of our 7th grade students recently drove and drew with Probots during their lunch with our friend Mr. Seidman, Instructional Technology Integration Specialist.

Our 7th and 8th graders are enjoying their elective classes. Mrs. Smith and her mindfulness class took advantage of the beautiful weather today with a little yoga practice. Students enjoyed the savasana!
