Community Closing and Delay Notifications

Winter is coming soon, and the Camden Central School District is adding a new tool to keep the community informed through a new Community Closing/Delay Notifications group through ParentSquare. This will allow you to receive the same notifications that our parents/guardians and staff receive in the event school is closed or delayed, if we are forced to dismiss early, or if we must cancel all after-school activities. It will not grant access to any other ParentSquare features reserved for staff, parents, and legal guardians. 

Ideal use cases for this group include, but are not limited to:
-Relatives who are not parents/legal guardians but may serve as caregivers.
-Babysitters
-Organizations that could be impacted if we need to delay or close.
-Community members who may attend sports events or our Winter Walking program. If school is closed due to weather, or after school activities are cancelled, these events are typically cancelled as well. 

If you already have a parent/staff/student account with us, you should already be receiving these alerts.

  • Your school or district will provide you with a link to a page where you can sign up. In this case, you’ll click the signup link above. 

    On the signup page, fill out your name, email address, and phone number. (This information is not shared with third parties.) Then you will receive an email where all you have to do is click the link provided to activate your account.

  • Yes, and it’s free! Search the App Store or Google Play, or click here: iOS | Android

  • No. Guests only receive notifications for posts sent directly to the Community Group they belong to. They will not receive district-wide, school-wide or class posts unless their specific Community Group is also selected as a recipient. 

  • Yes. On the web, from Home, click Groups under Participate in the left sidebar. Locate the Community Group and click Leave.
