2026-2027 Budget Vote and Board Elections Results

The Camden Central School District has conducted the vote on its 2026-2027 proposed budget and Board of Education Elections, along with an additional proposition. The following are the results of the election.

Proposition No. 1: To vote upon the Budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Shall the Board of Education of the Camden Central School District be authorized to appropriate and expend an amount not to exceed $59,838,634for general purposes for the school year 2026-2027, and to levy a tax on the taxable real property of the school district as provided by law?
    • YES: 328
    • NO: 130
  • Result: The proposition has been adopted.

Proposition No. 2: The Acquisition of Gas Buses & Student Transport Vehicles.

  • "Shall the Board of Education of the Camden Central School District be authorized to purchase and finance four (4) 65-passenger gasoline buses and two (2) 8-passenger minivans, including necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment and all other costs incidental thereto, and expend a total sum not to exceed $770,000, which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and said amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said School District, in the principal amount not to exceed $770,000, be issued?"

Board of Education Election

  • In the matter of electing Board Members to fill three at-large vacancies on the Board of Education for three-year terms, the voting was as follows:
    • Scott Collins: 319
    • Misty Portner: 365
    • Ashley Hurd: 388
  • Result: Scott Collins, Misty Portner, and Ashley Hurd have been elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education, to begin in July 1, 2026.

Special School District Meeting of the Voters: December 9, 2025 Results

On December 9, 2025, a special meeting of the qualified voters of the Camden Central School District was held to vote on a proposition authorizing the Board of Education undertake a Capital project not to exceed $30,000,000.

PROPOSITION

Shall the Board of Education undertake a project consisting of the reconstruction and renovation of, and the construction of improvements, additions and upgrades to various School District buildings and facilities, including Camden High School and campus, Middle School and campus, Camden Elementary and campus, McConnellsville Elementary and campus, District Office, Maintenance Building and Bus Garage, the purchase of original furnishings, equipment, machinery and apparatus required in connection with the purposes for which such buildings, facilities and sites are used, all to include site, access, lighting, parking, athletic and playfield improvements, demolition, utility, mechanical, plumbing and electrical improvements as well as payment of professional fees and all other necessary costs incidental to such work (the “Project”) at a total maximum estimated cost of $30,000,000 and to pay for the Project by the levy of a tax which is hereby voted in the amount of $30,000,000, subject to available State aid or to any other revenues available for such purpose, which tax shall be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education and in anticipation of the collection of such tax, bonds and notes of the District are hereby authorized to be issued at one time, or from time to time, in the principal amount not to exceed $30,000,000, and a tax is hereby voted to pay the principal and interest on said obligations when due?

NO: 58

Result: The proposition has been adopted.
