Substitute Registered Professional Nurse
The Camden Central School District is looking for a student-centered, detail-oriented candidate for the position of Substitute Registered Professional Nurse. The ideal candidate will possess their certification to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York, along with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping children.

This is a 10 month, as-needed opportunity with variable hours, and pays $25.00 per hour when on duty.

TEACHER RECRUITMENT

You must be a New York State Certified Teacher in order to apply for teaching positions in the Camden Central School District.

We post our teaching positions on
OLAS (Online Application System) as they become available, and prospective teachers can apply on that website to be considered for candidacy.

BUS DRIVERS
We take applications for bus driver positions on a rolling basis and fill positions as needed. To apply for a bus driver position, do the following.

  1. Before submitting an application, you must contact the CCSD Transportation Facility. (315-245-0878)
    The bus garage can provide you with more information on application requirements, and offer clarification on any questions you may have on becoming a bus driver in the Camden Central School District. It is vital that any prospective driver contact the transportation department before applying to ensure that your application will be accepted by the system.

  2. Once you have made contact and have further instructions from the transportation department, fill out the following forms.

SUPPORT STAFF
We are continually recruiting for support staff openings in the Camden Central School District. Please note that not all positions may have openings at the current time, but you are welcome to apply to become a substitute or be considered for future vacancies.

Support staff includes:

  • Food Service Helper

  • Teacher Aide

  • Cleaner/Custodian

  • School Bus Attendant

  • Registered Professional Nurse

  • Office Specialist


    To apply for a support staff position, fill out the following forms:
    Oneida County Civil Service Portal (This is the online form through the Oneida County Department of Personnel. You will be required to create an account.)
    Reference Form  (Complete and submit to the CCSD Human Resources Office)
    Veteran Status Form (Complete and submit to the CCSD Human Resources Office)

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
There is an ongoing need throughout public education for qualified substitute teachers, and we are always seeking quality applicants who want to help our students make the most out of each day in the classroom.

You must have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university to have your application considered for a substitute teacher position.

Applicant must complete the CCSD Instructional Application, and submit three (3) letters of reference (no family members).

Applicant must be also fingerprinted through the New York State Education Department.

When the above are submitted to the human resources office, you will be contacted to set up an interview with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Once interviewed and approved, the candidate's name is presented to the Board of Education for final approval. Once that is completed, the applicant's name goes on the daily "to call" list.


Additional payment incentives are offered above the non-certified base rate for certified teachers, and teachers who have retired from their regular duties with the Camden Central School District.

Pay Rates:
$122 per day uncertified, $132 certified and $142 for CCSD Retired Teachers.  

TEACHER ASSISTANTS
Teacher Assistant positions are recruited on a continuous basis in the Camden Central School District.
Please note that you must be certified as a Teacher Assistant by the State of New York to be considered for a position in this capacity.

TUTORS
The Camden Central School District recruits tutors to work on an hourly basis with all grade levels. Successful candidates will provide personalized academic support to students. Tutors provide support on an in-person or virtual basis depending on student needs. Tutors make 30 dollars per one-hour session, and are also given a half hour of paid planning time for each scheduled session.
