On Friday, May 16th, kindergartners from McConnellsville Elementary School immersed themselves into a prominent local wildlife habitat with a field trip to the Great Swamp Conservancy in Canastota.
Throughout the day, students learned about the many creatures that inhabit the swamp, including birds, amphibians, and reptiles. They also made miniature nests and frog masks.
This trip is always a hit for students and staff alike, and second year kindergarten teacher Emily Wood is among them in that sentiment.
“We are so lucky to have this beautiful spot so close to home,” she said.
