The Camden High School varsity softball team seeks its second consecutive Section III title, and its second overall on Friday, May 30th. How They Got Here: The matchup features two state-ranked teams. Defending champion Camden has an overall record of 15-3 and is the TVL Pioneer Division champion. The NYS #17 Blue Devils defeated Westhill in the quarterfinals 11-3, and topped NYS #22 Jamesville-Dewitt 6-5 in the semis to return to the title game. Camden has won its last five games. The Spartans are 13-6 and ranked eighteenth in the state. They have also won their last five games, defeating CVA and Chittenango to set up a Section III championship rematch. In addition to a championship, the game will be a great litmus test of both teams’ progress. New Hartford won the only regular season meeting 3-0, but that was back in the third game of the season on April 17th.
