CAMDEN, NY - Eight members of the Camden High School varsity baseball team recently received year-end honors from Syracuse.com’s All-CNY Awards Program and the Tri-Valley League. The 2025 Blue Devils were 13-9 overall and claimed the Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division Crown. The year ended in the Section III Class A Quarterfinals.
The Blue Devils received major individual awards in four out of five available categories in the Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division.
Caden Grygiel highlights this year’s recipients for Camden as the Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division’s Co-Player of the Year. Grygiel was also named to the All-CNY first team and to the TVL Pioneer Division first team. The versatile senior was tenth in Section III Class A in batting average with a .403 clip for the campaign. He was fourth among his Class A contemporaries with 25 hits, and he led all Class A players with fourteen extra base hits including one home run. His 18 runs batted in tied for fifth in the section. In limited work on the mound, he struck out 21 batters in just over ten innings.
Adam Gonzalez was chosen as a second team All-CNY recipient, and a TVL Pioneer Division first team all-star. His 28 hits tied for the lead in Section III Class A in 2025, and that translated into 23 runs scored to rank toward the front of the pack in that category. He batted .389 for the year with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. On the mound, he ate up 38 innings of work for the Blue Devils in eight appearances. He struck out seventeen batters this season. When he wasn’t pitching, Gonzalez typically was found at the vitally important shortstop position.
Evan Gonzalez was chosen as the TVL Pioneer Division Co-Rookie of the Year along with first team honors from the league. The freshman notched a .407 average at the plate to rank around the tail edge of the top ten in Section III Class A. He had 24 hits, fifteen walks, and just four strikeouts. His 20 runs scored ranked seventh in Section III Class A. He struck out three in limited work on the mound.
Evan Pitcher was selected as the TVL Pioneer Division Co-Rookie Pitcher of the Year. In 24 innings of work, he posted an earned run average of 3.18, and struck out 22 batters. He had a 4-1 record on the mound.
Andrew Joyce was a second team All-Star selection in the Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division, primarily for his work as a pitcher. Joyce became Camden’s go-to man on the bump, and delivered brilliantly with a 5-1 record and 2.83 Earned Run Average. He struck out 32 batters in 37 innings pitched, and ranked just outside the top ten in the section in strikeouts.
Dylan Bush was also a second team All-Star selection in the Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division. He batted .328 with 10 runs scored on 21 hits, three of which were doubles. On the mound, he had a 1-1 record with fourteen strikeouts.
Joey Matt earned honorable mention TVL Pioneer Division All-Star honors. The senior outfielder batted .204 with eight stolen bases, 12 runs scored, and nine runs batted in.
Head Coach Jake Bates was also selected as the 2025 Tri-Valley League Pioneer Division Coach of the Year after piloting his squad to the Division crown.
