The Camden Central School District has a vacancy in the transportation department, effective immediately, for the position of School Bus Attendant.
The School Bus Attendant assists the school bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for students during transportation to and from school and school-related activities. This position is responsible for supervising students, assisting students with a variety of needs, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to work effectively with varying ages and needs, the ability to follow safety procedures and district policies, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a calm demeanor. Physical requirements include the ability to assist students on and off the bus, lift/assist with mobility devices, and sit/stand/move on a bus while in motion.
The schedule includes morning and afternoon bus runs on days school is in session, with a break in between, and additional hours may be available for field trips/extracurriculars.
This position pays hourly at a rate of $16.86 per hour to start. Health insurance is available to anyone working 25 or more hours per week, and NYS Retirement is also included in our benefits package.
