The Camden Central School District has a vacancy for the following position:

Cleaner/Custodial Worker 1
Camden High School 
Tuesday - Saturday 

Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM 
Saturday: Variable hours based on building needs and scheduled events 

Position Summary 

The Cleaner performs routine building cleaning duties under supervision and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position plays an important role in supporting daily operations and ensuring the building is prepared for instructional use and extracurricular activities. The work of employees in this class involves the execution of tasks that follow a well-established routine. Does related work as required. 

Primary Responsibilities 

â—Ź Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas 

â—Ź Wash windows, walls, woodwork, toilets; 

â—Ź Dusts chairs, tables, desks, and other furniture; 

â—Ź Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors 

â—Ź Empty trash and recycling receptacles 

â—Ź Other duties requiring the use of motorized equipment as assigned in the past. 

â—Ź Set up and break down for events and activities as needed 

â—Ź Assist with Saturday building coverage based on scheduled events and needs 

â—Ź Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Building Administrator 

Qualifications 

â—Ź Must meet Civil Service requirements for Cleaner 

â—Ź Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

â—Ź Ability to lift, bend, and perform routine cleaning tasks 

â—Ź Strong attendance and punctuality record - Saturday availability is required 

Terms of Employment 

â—Ź Compensation per CSEA contract, 40 hours per week, 12-month position 

â—Ź Annual evaluation of performance by the Custodian of the School and Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds 

Additional Information 

â—Ź Tuesday–Friday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM 

â—Ź Saturday hours will vary based on building usage and event scheduling; availability to work Saturdays is required. 

â—Ź Salary and benefits per current CSEA contract
