The Camden Central School District Athletic Department would like to congratulate Camden High School students Blake Jessie, Keith Seaton, and Darrell Sumner for achieving ½ Ton Club Status during the 2025-26 school year.
The ½ ton club is an initiative that recognizes students who put in significant time and effort in the weight room to achieve their goals. In order to become a ½ ton club member, a student must complete three prescribed lifts at a total of 1,000 pounds or better. The three lifts are the bench press, the squat, and the deadlift.
Business teacher Steven Klepadlo oversees the award, and notes that the biggest prize might be the sense of community among the students participating.
“We have built up a great community of students who support each other,” he said. “During each of our 1/2 Ton Club record attempt days, there were several students and athletes in attendance to cheer these students on and witness their accomplishments. The students are truly inspiring and are great role models for others in the building.”
There are four current students in the ½ ton club. Blake, Keith, and Darrell join Jackson Wolford in achieving this distinction, with Wolford accomplishing the feat last year. Any student interested in pursuing this recognition should see Mr. Klepadlo for more information.
