District Statement - Saturday, May 2nd, 2026

Earlier this afternoon, the Camden Central School District was alerted to a small fire located in a custodial closet at Camden High School. Emergency services personnel promptly responded to the scene, and the fire was extinguished shortly thereafter. The building was empty at the time the fire was located, and at no time was anyone in danger.

The District would like to thank the Camden Fire Department, Taberg Fire Department, North Bay Fire Department, and Florence Fire Department for their professionalism and quick response, which helped to keep the fire contained to a small area. We are also grateful for the decisive actions of Corporal Dan Muha from the Camden Police Department, who was among the first to respond andstepped in to help extinguish the fire. In addition, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds Randy Bajohr and Director of Athletics Josh Mazzaferro are to be commended for their roles in facilitating the response on-site.
