It may not have the bright lights of national television, but it certainly might be the most imaginative dog show you’ve ever seen. On Wednesday, June 3rd, and Thursday, June 4th, the Camden High School Canine Science class held its Spring Dog Show in the school’s agriculture room.
Unlike a real-world dog show, no live dogs were present in the room. Instead, students created realistic scale models from a variety of materials, and presented a variety of information about their chosen breed in front of classmates and staff judges Steven Klepadlo, Becky Ciotti, and Natalie Archibee.
The first part of the competition was the group stage. Students competed in groups corresponding with the classification their breed competes in at an actual dog show. The groups were Sporting, Non-Sporting, Working, Toy, Herding, and Hound. Students were judged on the quality of their presentations and the attention to detail placed into their scale models.
From there, the group winners were pitted against one another for best in show.
Congratulations to the following winners!
