Adam and Autumn

Senior student-athletes Adam Gonzalez and Autumn Porter had the opportunity to represent Camden High School at one of Section III’s most prominent and prestigious events on Monday, June 8th. The duo were recognized as part of the 2026 Section III Scholar-Athlete Award Dinner held at Onondaga Community College.

Held each year, the Section III Scholar-Athlete Award Dinner celebrates selected high school seniors from all 106 member schools who have distinguished themselves from their peers through exemplary athletic and academic achievement. To be eligible, a student-athlete must hold at least a 90 percent cumulative grade point average while participating in a varsity sports program. Each school can nominate two student-athletes who meet the requirements.

Porter has an unweighted average of 95.57 and is ranked tenth among this year’s graduating class. She has competed in tennis and track and field during her time at Camden High School. Autumn will continue her studies at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, with an eye toward a position in the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Gonzalez has an unweighted average of 96.71 and is ranked seventh in the Class of 2026. A three-sport athlete and two-time Camden CSD Male Athlete of the Year, Gonzalez has starred in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He will attend the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Fall to study Computer Engineering.

Each honoree receives a plaque and a small scholarship. In addition to the Scholar-Athlete award, Gonzalez received one of the evening’s sponsored scholarship awards in the form of a $1,000 award from Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast.
