Congratulations are in order for the Camden High School Envirothon teams! On Friday, April 28th, CHS sent a pair of squads to compete at the 25th annual Oneida County Envirothon held at Sherrill Brook Park in New Hartford. Camden Team 1 was crowned as this year's champion, while Team 2 finished in a very strong eighth place among a field of nineteen teams representing high schools across Oneida County.

Camden last won the Oneida County Envirothon championship in 2015.

Envirothon is presented each year by the Oneida County Soil and Water Conservation District. It consists of a series of hands-on competitions where students work to develop solutions to environmental problems. Students are tested in five subject areas: soil, aquatic ecology, wildlife, forestry, and current affairs.

As Oneida County Champions, Camden Team 1 advances to the New York State championship  held on May 24th and 25th at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva. The winner of the state competition will earn the chance to represent the state at the 2023 North America Envirothon in New Brunswick, Canada.
