CCSD Budget Vote and Board of Education Elections Results

The results of voting on the Camden Central School District's 2023-24 proposed budget, and Board of Education election have been tabulated and are as follows:


Budget Vote
Shall the Board of Education of the Camden Central School District be authorized to expend a sum not to exceed $56,326,029 as set forth in the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024 and to levy the necessary taxes therefore?

Votes cast in favor of the proposition: 461

Votes cast against the proposition: 414

RESULT: The resolution passes. 


Board of Education Elections 

In the matter of electing board members to fill the four contested at-large vacancies for the Camden Central School District, the vote tallies were as follows, in the order of a candidate’s appearance on the ballot: 

Misty Portner: 495
Thomas Fanning: 459
Katherine Stone: 568
Lindsey Burdick: 303
John Dean: 405
Laird Petrie: 530

The three candidates receiving the highest vote totals are elected to three year terms concluding in 2026. The candidate receiving the fourth-highest vote total is elected to fill a recently vacated seat and serve the remaining year of that term, concluding in 2024.

In order of votes received, the candidates received votes as follows: 

Katherine Stone: 568
Laird Petrie: 530
Misty Portner: 495
Thomas Fanning: 459
John Dean: 405
Lindsey Burdick: 303

RESULT: Katherine Stone, Laird Petrie, and Misty Portner have been elected to serve three year terms on the Board of Education. Thomas Fanning will receive a one year term.
