Dear Families,
Get ready for some exciting news that will help make our schools even better for our kids!
We have a special opportunity for everyone in our community to share their ideas about how we can best support our students and teachers. It's all about something called ESSA Funded Grants, which are funds from the government designed to help schools grow and improve under the Every Student Succeeds Act.
Think of it like this: Imagine we have a big box of amazing tools, and we want to make sure we pick the very best ones to help our kids learn, explore, and succeed! These grants are like those tools, and we want your help deciding which ones will be most helpful.
From July 16th to August 31st, we're opening up our public comment period for our ESSA Funded Program Application. We have a short and easy online survey where you can share your thoughts. Any parent, guardian, staff member, or resident of our CCSD community can fill it out. Your feedback is super important because it will help us figure out the best ways to use these funds to:
Bring more cool learning opportunities to our classrooms.
Support our amazing teachers with new resources and training.
Create an even more welcoming and helpful environment for all students.
And importantly, help us plan exciting family engagement nights and opportunities! These could include things like family literacy nights, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) events, or even workshops where we can learn together about how to best support our children's learning at home. We want to create more ways for us all to connect and learn, making our school community even stronger.
We truly believe that when families and schools work together, our students benefit the most. Your ideas will directly help us make decisions that will lead to wonderful improvements for everyone.
In addition to our online survey, you are also welcome to offer comments on our ESSA-Funded Programming in person at either of our summer “Meet The Principal” events. For Camden Elementary, my “Popsicles With The Principal” event will be held on Thursday, August 14th from 5:00 pm to 6:00 PM on the CES Playground. For McConnellsville Elementary, the Back to School Bash presented by the PTO and Connected Community Schools will be held on Tuesday, August 26th from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
We also invite you to attend our Title I presentations at our Elementary Open House events on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.
