In Memoriam

It is with profound sadness that the Camden Central School District informs you of the loss of two members of our school community. The District has been notified that eleventh grade student Tyler Spellicy and his mother, Natasha Spellicy, passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Turin, NY on Thursday, July 17th. 2025 graduate Kylie Spellicy was also injured in the aforementioned accident and remains in the hospital at this time.

The District extends its heartfelt condolences to anyone closely affected by this tragedy including family, friends, and classmates. We will have you all in our thoughts in the days ahead, and we invite all in our community to do the same.

We understand that this is very difficult news to process for our students, staff, and families. As a District, we are committed to standing behind our school community in this time of mourning. In the short term, we will have a team of counselors, psychologists, and social workers available to anyone who needs support at Camden High School on Friday, July 18th from 9 AM to 1 PM. Please enter through the main doors off the front bus loop. No appointment is necessary.

The District stands ready to offer further assistance in the coming days and weeks. We encourage our families to be observant of any signs of distress in their child that would indicate a need for additional support or guidance. Our mental health team has provided some resources with guidance that you may find helpful in directly assisting your child through this time of grief, or obtaining outside assistance.
