We want to help celebrate your first day of school tomorrow!
If you'd like to share your first day of school pictures with us and don't mind us sharing them, send them to camdenphotos@camdencsd.org and we'd love to feature as many as we possibly can.
While we know that it is an very popular trend right now, we ask that you please refrain from submitting pictures to us with signs containing information about your child.
We're looking forward to getting the year started!

Raise your hand if you're ready for tomorrow!

More of the sights from yesterday's opening day festivities! Tomorrow, we get down to business.

Is your student interested in picking up instrumental music this fall? Join the CCSD Music Department on the evening of Thursday, 9/14 for the chance for your student to sample a variety of instruments! Our music faculty will be there to help introduce your child to musical instruments and help them find a fit that works for them. Two local retailers will be on hand to answer questions about rentals, sales, and instrument care!
Matt Donaleski is your person to contact if you have questions.

During Tuesday's "Opening Day" events, our transportation team came together for a group training session!
Speaking of transportation, it's a good time to remind our community to help keep the roads safe for students this school year. Please watch your speed, obey signs, and follow the direction of crossing guards when they are posted near our buildings.
Exercise additional caution when driving in the vicinity of a school bus or any neighborhood where students might be walking to school. In accordance with state law, never pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing.
If we all work together as a team, we can continue to ensure a safe environment for students going to and from school each day.

As part of this morning's Opening Day staff assembly, we had the honor of hosting Brad Montgomery as our keynote speaker. Brad challenged our group to "embrace their awesomeness" with an insightful and humorous presentation.

All the world's a stage, especially if your student is in our theater programs! The curtain goes up on our CHS Fall Play, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", on November 3rd and 4th!

The Camden Central School District athletic department will be making the move to HUDL TV for streaming select home athletic events for the upcoming 2023-24 sports season. With a free account, you will be able to view our available home events free of charge.
The Camden HS Athletic Department should be your first point of contact if you have questions or comments regarding this.
If you already have an NFHS network account, keep it handy since other schools may still be using it, plus the live streaming rights for NYSPHSAA and Section III Championship events continue to be held by NFHS.

Here they are.... your incoming fifth grade students at Camden Middle School! 130 students participated in our second session of the CMS "Movin On Up!" orientation program!
Attendees were treated to an action-packed two day program that was created to prepare them for life at the Middle School in a relaxed, informal setting. They had plenty of chances to learn about their classmates, school staff, and the building they'll call home for the next four years!
The Summer of 2022 marked the program's debut, and Principal Brittany DerCola noticed a significant improvement in student readiness after that initial run.
"Last year we saw that students were a lot more comfortable coming in on the first day," DerCola said. "They recognized their teachers and knew which students were in their first period class, so it helped them find their way much more quickly. Giving them time to connect with their classmates during the orientation also gets a lot of the early socializing and silliness out of the way so that when the school year starts we can get right to business!"
This offering is made possible in part through assistance from the LEAP Summer Enrichment program at Madison-Oneida BOCES. LEAP also helps administer other summer programming in the District, including Camp-Sum-More-Fun, Brain Gain, and Kindergarten Boot Camp!
