One of the biggest awards given out at each year's Class Night is the Student Seed of Selflessness award. This award closely mirrors the adult award in that it is given to a recipient who routinely goes above and beyond what is required to help students, staff, and their community. This year's recipient was Katie Hite. Adult recipients Pearl Romano and Karl Keil presented Katie with her award. Congratulations!

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Camden Elementary School music teacher, Mr. Greg Jerome, after a courageous battle with illness. Greg had an incredible impact on our students, his colleagues, and our Camden Central School District family that will never be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to the Jerome family, to each and every person who has had the fortune of knowing this great man, and every student who has discovered the joy of making music from his caring, engaging, and exciting approach to teaching. During class time, assemblies, and after-school events, you could always count on Greg to take any occasion to the next level for our students. This is a very emotional loss for each one of us in the Camden Central School District. We are committed to supporting every member of our Camden Community who may need it in this time of mourning. Members of our Crisis Response team were at Camden Elementary today to help any students, faculty, and staff who are in need of support, and our mental health team is standing by to assist anyone who may need support throughout the District in the coming days and weeks.

Earlier this month, four student-athletes in the varsity track and field program made a bit of history. Brodie Buckingham, Liz Hunley, McKenzie Aldridge, and Jaiden Catania teamed up at the Whitesboro Ed Wadas Invitational as part of what is believed to be Camden's first-ever Co-Ed 4x400 relay team. In a field of 21 competing mixed relay teams, the quartet covered the 1,600 meter distance in 4:11.46.

Our CMS Agriculture Elective students spend a lot of time learning about where food comes from, and there's no better way to reinforce the message than to make the product yourself. Yesterday, students in the elective had the opportunity to make butter from fresh milk, thanks to our special guests from the Cornell Cooperative Extension! June is Dairy Month, so this activity is a fun way to kick off that observance.

The CHS Concert choir enjoyed a performance by The Pointercounts from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music yesterday! The ensemble is an A Cappella group of primarily music students from the college. They performed a variety of songs and then answered some questions from the high school students.
